The first five ingredients tell you most of what you need. Here is how to read the rest.
Ingredients appear in descending order of concentration until you reach one percent, after which the order means nothing. Find the one-percent line and the list becomes readable.
Preservatives, fragrance and pH adjusters usually sit below that line. If an active you are paying for sits there too, you are buying a claim rather than a dose.
Concentration is not the whole story either. Delivery system, pH and formulation stability decide how much of an active actually reaches the skin.
